The Lord teaches that the new life in Christ cannot be mixed with the old nature or with damaged spiritual structures. God wants to do something new: a new mind, a new heart, a new way of living, and a new relationship with Him. The new wine represents: the presence of God, the movement of the Holy Spirit, and the spiritual renewal that Christ brings. But to receive God's newness, we must first allow Him to transform us from within. Finally, 2 Corinthians 4:7–10 declares: “We have this treasure in earthen vessels.” Although we are fragile and limited, God bestows His glory upon imperfect lives so that the power may be His and not ours. Believers may face: trials, struggles, persecutions, afflictions, but God's power continually sustains and transforms those who abide in Christ. This message challenges us to ask ourselves: Am I truly allowing God to transform my life? Am I still clinging to old attitudes and habits?
