In Şanlıurfa, there's a place where history seems to have unfolded layer by layer… The story of this place, known today as "Iftar Hill," stretches back to the time of Caliph Omar. According to legends, the companions of the Prophet broke their fast here during Ramadan while Urfa was under siege. That's why it's called "Iftar Hill." But the story doesn't end there… In 1092, when Urfa fell to the Crusaders during the Crusades, a church was built here. Over time, this structure was used for different purposes; at one point it became a prison, then it was transformed back into a place of worship, serving as a mosque.
