Yet liquefied petroleum gas is still here, enjoying excellent health and fighting alongside us. But, above all, it is fighting to save money every day for more than two million Italian families who continue to choose it over traditional fuels. Yet the false beliefs and legends surrounding it remain. Some believe, for example, that it is unreliable and therefore impossible to achieve high mileage with it. Others, then, are convinced that it cannot be installed on more modern cars, such as the latest-generation hybrids. And still others believe that it will diminish the performance of, say, sports cars. But is that really the case? To find out, definitively, we organized one of our instrumental tests, with some particularly succulent and powerful cars. So we took to our test track a brand-new Alfa Romeo Tonale MHEV, a second-generation Mercedes-Benz SLK V6, and a charming Range Rover, also second-generation. All three are equipped, unexpectedly, with LPG systems designed by the specialists at Landi Renzo, and all three hide some secrets. We reveal them to you, one after the other, in this video packed with tests and observations.
