Join me in the Historic Center of Asunción, Paraguay as I discuss the history, geography, demography, politics, and economy of Paraguay and its capital. Come to the verdant, tropical shores of the Bay of Asunción where more than a third of Paraguay's population lives to learn about the dark past and promising future of this landlocked, little-known, sparsely populated country located at the heart of South America where Spanish and other Europeans came together with Guaraní and other Amerindians to birth the fascinating Paraguayan people. This video was first attempted on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, but we were stopped by a police officer who forced us to end the video and so we chose a new walking route that mostly avoided police officers and were able to successfully complete this video on Thursday, June 12th, 2025.
