Anyone who regularly shears cows knows the problem of dirty, trampled, and chewed-up power cables. With the new Aesculap Econom CL cordless shearer, that is a thing of the past. Whereas previously, old cordless shears with the old-fashioned nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries could not match a mains-powered shearer, that is now different. The Econom-CL uses modern Lithium-Ion battery technology. These batteries have a high energy content and a low self-discharge rate. Only 2% is lost when the device is not in use.
