comment la photographie peut devenir un lieu de rencontre. | Gwenvael Engel | TEDxINSA Rennes
Gwenvaël Engel is a photographer based in Brittany. She grew up between Brittany, Ivory Coast, and the French overseas territories. At fifteen, her grandfather gave her a film camera. Photography then became her universal language: a way to look at the world, understand it, and share it. For over ten years, she has been developing documentary and aesthetic photographic work, exploring human connections, territories, and the beauty of everyday life. She combines a keen eye for detail and overall composition to deliver a graphic vision while revealing emotions. Trained in the sociology of tourism at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Gwenvaël has lived and worked in Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Canada, Thailand, and England. She completed her academic career by collaborating with UNESCO in Tehran, where she studied the development of cultural heritage tourism, before dedicating herself fully to photography. She also leads artistic and educational projects with institutions, schools, and prisons, creating bridges between art, society, and education. Her goal is to support collective creation, encourage intercultural dialogue, and share a vibrant photography that combines artistic rigor with cultural accessibility.
