【武器解説】MAS36からFAMASまで、自由で独特すぎるフランス冷戦時代のライフル

These rifles were in use from World War II through the end of the Cold War. Since World War II, France has had a unique history and military history compared to other major powers like the United States and Britain. During World War II, France was defeated and occupied by Germany, which led to many difficult times. After the war, France joined NATO, but could not tolerate the United States and Britain taking control of everything, so it withdrew from NATO in 1966. The French military remained independent from NATO until 2009. This resulted in a unique evolution of its weapons. Instead of adopting the 7.62mm NATO or 5.56mm NATO ammunition, France continued to use the 7.5mm French ammunition. The FAMAS, adopted in the late 1970s, was only chambered for the French 5.56mm round.
