Riffing on "Song for Grandma" for 5 minutes. Original song by Ben Hawes.

The last time I saw my Grandma was my 33rd birthday, and now here I am turning 34 tomorrow. I passed my mailbox on my way home from lunch today and I had the realization that I'm not going to be receiving a birthday card from her this year. She died last year but I got to spend one last family birthday party with her, and I sat with her as long as I could, to soak up my time with her. She loved to sit in the sun so much, even when we were worried she wasn't comfortable. A year later I think of her very often, and a year later I miss her more than ever. I am so glad that I was able to write her this song because when I miss her I can sing it and feel like I am sitting & chatting with her. As I was singing this song today, I looked across the street to the post office & in the window was a bouquet of colorful flowers in the window, which she always loved. What a funny thing, to have been missing a birthday card from her, and then to see the flowers in the window at the post office. Without being religious, its funny to see those little signs that remind me of someone who I loved. Miss you Grandma 🌷 Enjoy.
