HOW ARCHAEOGENETICS HAS REVOLUTIONIZED OUR PAST Archaeogenetics has become an indispensable discipline for understanding prehistoric peoples. Where we lack written records to learn what happened, genetic science has opened a window to the unknown. This knowledge has profoundly changed how we interpret the social relationships of past cultures and has provided new perspectives on the megalithic phenomenon in the Iberian Peninsula. In this video, we discuss one of the most significant advances in this field: the ability to accurately identify the biological identity of human remains. To do so, we will analyze some prominent archaeological sites related to megalithism, such as Valencina de la Concepción in Seville, the Panoría necropolis in Granada, and the Las Loras region in Burgos.
