Poinsett Bridge and Campbell's Covered Bridge - Landrum, SC

5/6/2021 - Today we visit two unique bridges in the South Carolina Upstate, Poinsett Bridge and Campbell's Covered Bridge. Both are located within 20 minutes of each other. Poinsett Bridge is the oldest bridge in South Carolina. It is named after Joel Poinsett, an early Greenville, SC resident, a member of the South Carolina legislature and the United States House of Representatives and the first United States Minister to Mexico. Legend has it the Poinsett bridge is haunted and there are several stories that tell the tale those haunted origins. A hotspot for ghost hunters and paranormal investigators, it's beauty, historical significance and spooky history make this a great spot to visit. Next is Campbell's Covered Bridge. This is last remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. Set in a beautiful little park that has picnic tables, a gorgeous meandering creek that rolls under it and half mile hiking trail. Perfect for a relaxing afternoon picnic and to cool your toes in the creek. Both bridges are located in Landrum, SC and you'll find the drive to them relaxing and serene.
