Let's explore the depths of it in the video. The knock comes sharp and deliberate. Vernon looks up from his chair, already irritated. No one visits without notice. He walks to the door and pulls it open. Then stops. A tall woman stands outside, dressed in emerald robes, completely out of place against the quiet street. Her posture is straight. Her expression is calm. Unshaken. She steps inside before he can react. McGonagall (firm): Good day, Mr Dursley. My name is Minerva McGonagall. I believe you have been expecting us. Vernon (angry): I will not have your kind in my house. Get out. She remains still and speaks calmly, yet the entire room falls silent under her presence. She turns away from him and walks toward the boys. Harry stands still, unsure. Dudley watches closely, unease already settling in. McGonagall places two letters into their hands. McGonagall (calm): These are for you. Harry (Eleven, child, quiet): I’ve… never had a letter before. Dudley (Eleven, child, uneasy): What is this? McGonagall (formal): I am Professor McGonagall, Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Vernon (cold): He is not going. My son is not one of you. McGonagall (calm): There is a world hidden alongside your own. A world of magic. Harry (Eleven, child, unsure): Magic? You mean… I can do magic? McGonagall (gentle): Yes, Harry. You can. McGonagall (soft): Your parents could as well. James and Lily Potter were exceptionally gifted. Harry (Eleven, child, hopeful): My parents… they were like me? McGonagall (warm): Very much so. Dudley (Eleven, child, unsettled): That’s not real. McGonagall (steady): It is. And you are a part of it. Vernon (furious): My son is not going to some freak school. Despite McGonagall’s best efforts the Dursley's aren't moved. They have the right to deny Dudley’s enrollment and their fear and hatred of anything abnormal is too ingrained. Dudley is sent to Smeltings, and Harry goes to Hogwarts. At first, everything feels right. The routine is simple. The expectations are clear. The world makes sense again. Dudley settles in quickly, falling into the rhythm of classes, meals, and physical training. He makes friends easily. Piers Polkiss walks beside him through the courtyard, laughing. Piers (Eleven, child, amused): You’ll smash them in boxing. Dudley (Eleven, child, confident): I already did. Boxing becomes his focus. It gives him structure. Control. Something solid. When he steps into the ring, everything feels normal. Predictable. For a while, he believes he has left everything else behind. But that is not true. It starts small. A locker slams shut harder than it should. A punch lands with unexpected force. A glass rattles slightly when he gets angry. Dudley notices every time. Dudley (Eleven, child, tense): Stop. No one else notices it or reacts, which only makes it worse. He starts being careful, then overly cautious. He controls his movements. Controls his emotions. Avoids anger. Avoids anything that might trigger it again. He tells himself the same thing every day. Dudley (Eleven, child, quiet): I’m normal. He repeats it until it feels true. But the truth does not go away. At night, he lies awake, trying not to think about magic at all. He avoids the thought completely, because acknowledging it would make it real, and he refuses to accept that. Dudley begins to live with two opposing thoughts. He hates magic. Fears it. Sees it as something wrong. But he is also curious. He remembers the strange things that happened at home. The way objects moved. The way things worked in his favor. The way Harry was blamed. He knows not all of it was Harry. That thought stays with him. Dudley (Eleven, child, unsettled): It wasn’t just him. But he pushes it away. Because accepting it means accepting something about himself. And that is something he refuses to do. So he chooses denial. Every time. Harry returns from Hogwarts. He carries himself differently. Speaks differently. There is certainty in him now. Dudley notices immediately. Dudley (Twelve, child, guarded): You think you’re special now? Harry (Twelve, child, calm): I just learned things.
