Sonia Caron à l’investiture dans Ungava

Our leader, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, was in Chibougamau this week to introduce Sonia Caron, the nomination candidate for Ungava. A manager within the education network for some twenty years, Sonia Caron is currently the Director of Services and Centre at the Baie-James Vocational Training Centre. Her passion for education, her deep respect for youth, and her commitment to their success have shaped her creative, human, and innovative management style. Ungava is her home. She was born there, grew up there, and has always been building her future there. Sonia Caron describes her region first and foremost as a land of attachment, resilience, and opportunity. She has dedicated her career to defending northern realities and supporting the citizens who live there. She now wishes to dedicate the next chapter of her professional journey to advocating for the issues facing her region. Her involvement on various committees and boards of directors has also given her a deep understanding of the issues facing her fellow citizens. Sonia Caron is therefore entering politics with the Parti Québécois to contribute, in particular, to our party's strategy for northern development. According to her, this development must be based on decentralization, the responsible development of resources, and the protection of the nations that inhabit the territory. She firmly believes in an economic nationalism adapted to the realities of the North, reflecting the aspirations of northern communities and reinforcing the importance of the North in the Quebec of tomorrow. Sonia Caron is also convinced that independence is the only way to adequately address Quebec's vision and needs. At the Parti Québécois, we are proud that our national project attracts highly skilled individuals like Sonia Caron. We wish her the best of luck in her nomination.
