Ética Deontológica e Ética da Virtude

This video analyzes the two main currents of normative ethics from a Christian and philosophical perspective: deontology and virtue ethics. Deontological ethics is presented as a system focused on duty and intrinsic rules, where the morality of an action is determined by obedience to principles, regardless of the consequences. Virtue ethics, on the other hand, prioritizes character formation and the development of traits of excellence that enable the individual to live fully. The author examines Immanuel Kant's contributions to the thought of duty, while also discussing the importance of habits and disciplines in building a good person. Finally, ways to integrate both theories are explored, suggesting that moral norms and virtues of character are complementary and essential elements for a complete ethical life.
