A Village That Set Aside Politics to Tackle Drought (नागझरी गावातील एक वेगळी निवडणूक)

Here's a video clip of Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao on a visit to Nagzari village in Satara district. They spoke to the village residents who told them the story of how, when elections for a local credit society threatened to sap mass enthusiasm for the Water Cup movement, a divided and conflict-stricken village came together to lay aside its political differences. The village elected a compromise candidate who was favoured by all local factions. This freed up the voters to go and do shramdaan for the watershed development work undertaken in the village.
