Through his research travels across Bengkulu, he discovered that the immense potential of local communities is not limited by their talent. It is trapped by their geography. While Indonesia takes pride in its G20 economy and digital advancements, we cannot leave millions of our brothers and sisters in the dark. Charity is no longer enough. These regions need systemic change and dignity. To answer this challenge, Waris introduces the BISA Strategy, a concrete framework aligned with SDG 9 and the national Asta Cita vision: Build smart infrastructure. We must accelerate digital and physical connectivity to link every remote village to the global grid. Innovate with local potential. Instead of exporting raw materials, we need to build innovation hubs so locals can process and brand their own commodities. Support inclusive industry. By giving local youth the right tools and training, we empower them to lead and grow their own economies. Advance collaboration. Real sustainable growth requires strong teamwork between the government, private sectors, universities, and community leaders. True national strength is measured by how we uplift our most remote communities.
