Pelargonium cuttings, especially young ones, root easily in agroperlite. The video shows the journey from cutting to blooming pelargonium. In agroperlite, cuttings of all types of pelargonium (ivy, zonal, and regal) grow a full "beard" of roots. At first, the cuttings remain stationary, but they actively develop root mass. This root mass, when planted in the ground, provides a powerful supply of nutrients to the cutting. Under proper conditions, the cutting blooms within two to three weeks, producing significant growth (about a centimeter per week for ivy-leaved pelargonium). With regular rooting in a substrate, the roots don't respire as intensely, so they develop more slowly and poorly. In this video, I show the time between each stage of pelargonium planting and how to prune pelargoniums (geraniums) after repotting to ensure fully formed flowering plants with plenty of tops.
