Why is spirituality everywhere? Are we experiencing a spiritual awakening or a crisis of meaning? In this video, I explore the origins of modern spirituality, the rise of the New Age movement, and how many of these practices have gone from being paths of transformation to becoming consumer products. With the help of Joseph Campbell, Byung-Chul Han, and Walter Benjamin, I explore why we still need rituals, community, and meaning in an increasingly fast-paced society. More than a critique of spirituality, this video is a reflection on the search for meaning in the 21st century.
