2024年度　熱海こがし祭り第56回山車コンクール【いい伊豆みつけた特別編】

The "Atami Kogashi Festival 2024, 56th Dashi-Contest" will be broadcast live on July 15, 2024 at 18:30(JST)! The "Kogashi Festival" is an annual festival held every year from July 14 to July 16 at Kinomiya Shrine, one of the most famous power spots in Japan Atami (Shizuoka-Prefecture). This annual festival is named after the "Mugi-Kogashi" (rice-bran paste) prepared in front of the deity. Leaders dressed as Sarutahiko-no-mikoto parade through the town while scattering Mugi-Kogashi along the streets, and the procession takes place to the beach where the deity is said to have washed ashore 1,300 years ago. On the evening of the 15th, from 6:30 p.m., a "float contest" will be held, where each group will perform with their unique float design. This is considered the hottest day of the year in Atami City, as children perform the traditional art "Shagiri," which they have practiced daily, and adults support them to make the festival more exciting.
