Used on a large scale since the 1940s due to their exceptional chemical stability, these synthetic substances are now ubiquitous in our environment. However, this very stability that makes them so popular prevents their natural degradation, leading to persistent and widespread contamination globally. PFAS disperse throughout all environmental matrices and spread over long distances. This dispersal contributes to the pollution of the food chain, directly affecting humans and compromising the quality of natural environments. How can we develop solutions adapted to this complex challenge, which concerns the entire planet and future generations?
