But the 10R80's CDF clutch drum can drop you out of gear at highway speed, and that's a $2,500–$7,000 problem (up to $10,000 on a PowerBoost). CHEVY wins on raw longevity data — and I say so plainly. But AFM lifters average out around 119,500 miles, there's a federal recall over connecting rods and crankshafts, and GM's 10-speed got recalled for a control valve that can momentarily lock the rear wheels. RAM — my own truck — finished LAST in the longevity data and LAST at Consumer Reports. I say both numbers out loud before I say anything good.
