Cone of the Hat: Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic circle. (6 sts) Rnd 2: 6 sc. (6 sts) Rnd 3: Inc in each st around. (12 sts) Rnd 4–5: 1 sc in each st. (12 sts) Rnd 6: 1 sc, inc around. (18 sts) Rnd 7–8: 1 sc in each st. (18 sts) Rnd 9: 2 sc, inc around. (24 sts) Rnd 10–11: 1 sc in each st. (24 sts) Rnd 12: 3 sc, inc around. (30 sts) Rnd 13–14: 1 sc in each st. (30 sts) Rnd 15: 4 sc, inc around. (36 sts) Rnd 16–17: 1 sc in each st. (36 sts) Rnd 18: 5 sc, inc around. (42 sts) Rnd 19–20: 1 sc in each st. (42 sts) Rnd 21: 6 sc, inc around. (60 sts) ➡️ Continue the sequence to shape the cone of the hat. Remember: Every third round is an increase round. Keep working 2 plain rounds between each increase round. Stop increasing when the hat's circumference matches your head measurement. (For example, a 21" head is usually reached around 60 stitches—this may vary depending on yarn, hook, and tension.) Paid version of pattern has a "cheat sheet" that takes you up to 204 stitches. Brim: When desired width is reached: Rnd 1 (Brim Setup): Sc in FLO of each st around. (Same stitch count as last cone round) Rnd 2 (Increase): Continue your increase sequence from the cone. For example, if you ended with 6 sc, inc, work 7 sc, inc to maintain the pattern and add 6 sts. Rnd 3: Sc in each st around. Rnd 4 (Final Increase): Repeat the next increase round in the sequence (+6 sts).
