WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY The Town Hall celebrated World Environment Day with a series of activities in schools this week, which began last Friday at the Jorge Guillén School. 3. 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF IES ANTONIO GALA IES Antonio Gala celebrated its 50th anniversary. The school commemorated the occasion with an event attended by current and former teachers, authorities, and students, among others. 4. TO THE FÁTIMA CARNIVAL GROUP Last Saturday, the Alifara Culture Association presented its "Alhaurino of the Year" award to the Fátima Carnival Group for their successes in the recent Carnival. 5. "WOUNDED BY A WILD BRAVE'S CLAW" The Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of Nazareth organized a charity screening of the documentary film "Wounded by a Wild Beast's Claw" on Friday. Donations were given to the "Yes for Life" campaign and the Spanish Association for the Effects of Cancer Treatment. 6. CORPUS CHRISTI The Corpus Christi procession wound its way through the streets of downtown Alhaurín el Grande yesterday, starting from the Parish Church, with the children who received their First Communion this year. The feast was also celebrated in the Plaza Mayor of Villa del Guadalhorce. 7. TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP This past weekend, the Provincial Table Tennis Championship was held at the Alhaurín el Grande Municipal Sports Center. Over the two days, some 220 athletes of all ages tested their skill and talent with the paddle.
