Salida de Cuevas de San Marcos

Cuevas de San Marcos is a Spanish municipality in the province of Málaga, Andalusia. It is located within the Northeastern region of Málaga, in the northern part of the Antequera region, bordering Córdoba, from the Genil River valley to the Sierra de Malnombre and the Camorro de Cuevas Altas. This municipality sits at an altitude of 420 meters above sea level. By road, it is located 88 km from Málaga and 487 km from Madrid. It is an agricultural town, predominantly cultivated with olives and producing "Hojiblanca" olive oil. Its name comes from its patron saint, Saint Mark the Evangelist, and from its well-known Belda Cave, which is very deep and features impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations. An endemic bat colony lives inside the cave, so it is only open to visitors for a few months of the year. The municipality covers an area of ​​approximately 37.5 km².
