FUEGO DE ALEGRIA GOYONE 1

𝑭𝒖𝒆𝒈𝒐 𝒅𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒂 est né de plusieurs élans qui me sont chers. D’abord, une rythmique qui prolonge la pratique habituelle, ici déployée en 12/8 dans l’esprit des musiques cubaines. Ensuite, un désir d’explorer un développement lyrique et harmonique qui dépasse les cadres traditionnels du jazz. Ce projet a aussi été l’occasion de réunir autour de moi 𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 𝐝’𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐞̀𝐭𝐞𝐬. Au-delà de leurs talents, c’est surtout la joie de nous retrouver et de partager cette musique qui traverse chaque instant — une joie qui, je l’espère, s’entend et se transmet à l’écoute. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐬 : 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐱 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐨 𝐅𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 : 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐥'𝐀𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐞 : 𝐬𝐚𝐱𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨 : 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞́𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜 𝐁𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐮𝐱 : 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐧 : 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐬 “𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨” 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐬 : 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝑭𝒖𝒆𝒈𝒐 𝒅𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒂 was born out of several inspirations that are dear to me. Firstly, a rhythmic structure that builds on standard practice, here arranged in 12/8 time in the spirit of Cuban music. Secondly, a desire to explore lyrical and harmonic development that goes beyond the traditional boundaries of jazz. This project has also been an opportunity to bring together around me an exceptional array of performers around me. Beyond their talents, it is above all the joy of being together again and sharing this music that permeates every moment — a joy which, I hope, can be heard and felt by the listener.
