That product is an actively managed fund. Actively managed investment funds seem to be a good choice because they aim to outperform the average of the markets. However, in reality, these funds often charge high fees AND underperform the benchmark, since it's incredibly difficult to do. So at the end of the day, these funds put you very far behind where you could have been, had you just invested in simple, low-cost index funds.
