Why youth at CJP protest does not want to interact with Mainstream Media ?

A protest, by definition, is a public expression of disagreement. Traditionally, people raised their voices, journalists amplified those voices, and authorities were forced to listen. But during the recent CJP protests on 6 June and 20 June at Jantar Mantar, I noticed something unusual. Alongside the slogans, speeches, and demands of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) supporters, there was another sentiment emerging. Many protesters were unwilling to speak to mainstream media. Some openly questioned journalists. Others accused Indian news channels of pushing narratives rather than reporting reality. What struck me was that what began as a protest against authority often felt like a protest against the media itself. Why are so many young people losing trust in mainstream media? Why do protesters increasingly prefer independent reporters, creators, and social media over traditional news channels? Has the relationship between the public and Indian media changed forever?
