2026 Route 38 Heritage Bus Running Day, London Victoria to Clapton Pond

London Routemasters and RT AEC Regents took to the streets recreating route 38 which ran from London Victoria to Clapton Pond through the heart of London including Piccadilly and Hyde Park Corner. The original route dates back to 1912. Filming took place at Clapton Pond, Bloomsbury, Piccadilly, Essex Road and Victoria. A popular guest in unfamiliar territory was the Ipswich open top Atlantean but there was a great turnout of people enjoying bus travel as it used to be. Sadly, the service had to be curtailed in the afternoon due to a march in the centre of London but still there were plenty of trips on offer. Thanks to all the bus owners and volunteers for all their efforts and The London Bus Museum for organising it.
