This historic sugar plantation was once complete with a working factory, animal mill, stable, cemetery and slave quarters. Some of the remaining walls of the estate’s structures can be found crumbling deep within the landscape. Much of what remains on the property today is just a remnant of its former glory. The grounds of Neltjeberg Estate are also the final resting place for at least four of the original dwellers. The grave sites are just about 50 feet from the ocean, amidst the ruins of this once-thriving plantation. And just past the grave sites, beyond the tree line, lies a pristine, sandy beach known as Neltjeberg Beach.
