Morning Routine with Non-Verbal Home Health Patient
As a home health nurse, it's important to think not only about your patient's physical needs, but also social needs. ABOUT THIS CHANNEL My name is Nurse Abby! At 40 years old, I decided it was time for a career change. I went to nursing school! I feel like many things lined up perfectly in life and our family, so I took an opportunity to try something new. My youngest daughter, Raelynn, has several medical complications. Among other things, she has epilepsy and quadriplegic cerebral palsy. As a result of being her mom, I've learned that I actually kind of enjoy the medical field. I've learned to use all sorts of medical equipment such as suction machines, shaker vests, nebulizers, etc. I've also taken care of PICC lines, given shots, dressed many wounds, and a host of other things. I've learned a lot of medical lingo along the way, so much that I've sometimes been confused for already being her nurse when I've been in hospitals with my daughter, even before I was a nurse! I'm so happy to finally have my degree so that I can start working in my own home, with my own daughter! Subscribe to come along with me on the journey! / @nurseabby #nurseabby #nursing #homehealthnurse
