Shortage of veterinarians in SA
South Africa is facing a serious shortage of veterinarians, and this is having an impact on the battle against animal diseases such as foot and mouth. The government has now teamed up with the Health and Welfare Sector Education and Training Authority to promote a Veterinary Career Guidance Awareness Programme targeting school children.
