While players play video games at Flynn's arcade, the programs competing in the races fight for their lives. They exist in their own world inside the arcade machines. A complex program called Master Control rules here. It orders the capture and imprisonment of all software that believes in humans. The programs call humans "users" and believe that these same users created them. Meanwhile, in the real world, a man named Kevin Flynn is trying to hack into the Encom system.
