Scotland returned to the grandest stage after a 16-year absence and headed for West Germany full of optimism. Hailing the best footballing moment of his life, Willie remembers a squad that included icons such as Kenny Dalglish, Joe Jordan and Denis Law and explains why it’s the BEST Scotland squad ever assembled. It was heartache for Scotland who were eliminated despite not losing a game and Willie explains why he reckons we WOULD have been world champions if it wasn’t for three big tactical errors from manager Willie Ormond. Plus, he lifts the lid on a wild night partying with superstars Billy Connolly, Rod Stewart and Lonnie Donegan. Willie also recalls his magnificent assist for Joe Jordan’s winner against Czechoslovakia at Hampden that punched Scotland’s ticket to the finals.
