Uploaded daily at 6:00 AM. Venerable Woldo was born in a remote mountain village in Chungcheong-do and entered the monastic life at Guinsa Temple on Mt. Sobaek in his 20s, harboring a great ambition to seek enlightenment. Subsequently, he served by the side of the Great Master Daechung, the 2nd Supreme Patriarch of the Cheontae Order, until the moment of his passing. He actively engaged in missionary work while serving as the abbot of various temples in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Gangwon regions. He paid particular attention to the welfare of the elderly, carrying out diverse activities; in recognition of these contributions, he received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare in 2008. In 2013, he earned a Ph.D. in Police Administration from Dongguk University and garnered attention for his Buddhist TV program, "Venerable Woldo's Dharma Talks on Daily Life," which entertainingly explains the Buddha's teachings by applying them to real life. Currently, he serves as the abbot of Haeseongsa Temple in Gimhae and Wonheungsa Temple in Changwon, as well as a member of the Council of the Cheontae Order. He has previously served as the Head of the General Affairs Department of the Cheontae Order, Secretary General of the Council of Korean Buddhist Orders, President of Geumgang Shinmun, and a Director of Buddhist Broadcasting System (BCB).
