Review of the Namiki Emperor Mandarin Duck fountain pen (4K)
This Namiki Pilot Emperor Mandarin Duck Maki-e fountain pen was made by Katsuhiko in 2008. This Japanese ebonite fountain pen was in production from 2007 to 2019, and depicts two mandarin ducks swimming in a pool under maple leaves. Mandarin ducks signify fidelity and a long lasting union, which makes them a popular theme for wedding gifts in Japan. This urushi and maki-e pen was loaned to me for the review (so no writing with it), but to see how these pens write, please take a look at the Namiki Emperor writing sample video where I write with 3 pens: • Namiki Emperor fountain pen writing sample... Enjoy!
