Embrace It | Paint Over Magazine Images | Mixed Media Art Journal Page

I am showing y'all another art journal page from start to finish. I am doing this in a dylusions art journal using magazine images, apple barrel paints, ink, gesso, and paint and gel pens. I really get into to some finger painting on this one. :) I've been experimenting with paint over magazine images to learn the best ways to do about it to not get wrinkling and to get the maximum fun and stress relief out of it. The paint I used was just cheap ol' Apple Barrel that I bought from Walmart ages ago for 50 cents a bottle. I've learned the key is to use it over a layer of gesso. It primes the pages and makes it so much better. Thank y'all for stopping by again for another video. I work in a very conservative and rule driven environment. So, these little art projects of mine have become my form of therapy. There's little better to me than sitting down and ripping up a bunch of magazine pages, getting covered in glue, and splattering some paint and seeing where it takes me. There's no worrying about rules, terms, judgments, or anything like that. I just go with it and have a good time.
