PFAS, also known as "perennial pollutants," are now present in water, food, textiles, food packaging, and everyday industrial products. Highly persistent in the environment and difficult to eliminate, they raise major public health concerns. In this lecture, Professor Murielle Bochud presents the latest scientific knowledge on PFAS: their origin, environmental diffusion, exposure of the Swiss population, potential health effects, and regulatory challenges.
