Killara Train Station 🚂

Today we’re visiting Killara Station on Sydney’s T1 North Shore Line! One of Harrys favourite parts of this trip is crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge. 🌉 Every time we do it, we love looking out the window at those amazing Sydney views. It never gets old! Killara Station first opened way back on 10 July 1899, making it over 125 years old! 🤯 Did you know the name “Killara” means “permanent” or “always here”? That’s a pretty cool name for a railway station! One thing that makes Killara really special is its beautiful gardens. 🌺🌿 Most Sydney stations are surrounded by buildings or roads, but Killara is famous for its peaceful gardens and leafy surroundings, giving it a unique heritage feel. The station was rebuilt in 1906, and the railway line was doubled just a few years later in 1909 to help more trains travel through. In 2023, Killara became even easier for everyone to use with brand new lifts and accessibility upgrades. Today, around 2,900 passengers use Killara Station every day. Thanks for joining us on another station adventure!
