Brenda Stubbert's Reel // Fiddle Tutorial
This is a timeless Cape Breton tune by fiddler and composer Jerry Holland - one of my favourite players of all time. It is one of the tunes I use in my online course "Fiddle Techniques for the Violinist" as a reference for applying certain techniques (in this case it is used to practice the "cut" ornament, but the celtic slurring pattern tutorial is also very useful for it). The course is designed for players who may or may not have had experience playing classical violin but would like to explore and deepen their understanding of various fiddle techniques and styles. It is of course open to anyone interested in these techniques and styles as well, no matter what their background may be. check it out here: www.serenaeades.com/ecourse.
