What sounds like a dream to some became a complex, difficult situation for everyone involved — especially Simba. Jaguars are apex predators with specific social, spatial, and behavioral needs that no private home can meet. They don't become domesticated. They become frustrated, stressed, and dangerous — not because they're evil, but because they're wild. I grew up at the Jaguar Conservation Fund, surrounded by big cats my entire life. I understand the appeal. But understanding what jaguars actually need — versus what people imagine they need — changes everything.
