Presidential Petition Hearings Begin

The hearing of the presidential petitions at the supreme court begun with the legal teams of both prime minister Raila Odinga and the Africa Centre For Open Governance (AFRICOG) advancing the reasons as to why the want the election of Uhuru Kenyatta as president nullified. The two teams, through lawyers Kethi Kilonzo and George Oraro sought to demonstrate to the court that the voter registration, the polling exercise and the tallying process were marred by irregularities that eventually made the outcome of the election illegitimate. They further argues that there were widespread disparities between the number of registered voters and the actual number of people who voted on march 4th as Francis Gachuri reports.
