The real Slab City, California

Slab City, also called The Slabs, is an unincorporated, off-the-grid alternative lifestyle community. This is an area where everyone is living off the grid. There is no water, electric, or sewer in this area. It's amazing to see how everyone out here builds their own means of sources here and how this community comes together to help each other out.
