Historical Karoo Town Graaff Reinet TRAVEL with CINDY & GRAHAM Jaunti Vanlife SA This week we traveled to Graaff-Reinet to be dazzled by the heritage and slender of an ancient South African town. We saw many old Cape-Dutch buildings that were constructed in the early days of the Republic of South Africa. We stared in admiration at the architecture of homes, office buildings and the old Gothic-shaped church. The whole town was a wonder and surprise to both of us, we loved the old shapes and ideas. We learnt so much there about our old history days. About the 2nd oldest Grape vine known as the Black acorn grapevine, which had a disease and the trunk shrank from a hefty 3-man connecting arm lengths around the circumference. Another amazing feature we learnt was that the main street width, church street, was made wide enough for the early settlers to ride their ox wagons and be able to make U-turns without any problems. The majestic church in Church Street is also a major point of interest, one of the finest Gothic-style churches in South Africa. This quaint town is a must-see for your bucket list. It speaks volumes to souls. We are pensioners, so our videos are not professionally done; we use simple cameras and cell phones to capture footage, to show places and things, mainly to show you and keep the values in our minds.
