Zanskar Motorcycle Expedition 2023 (Trans-Zanskar Himalayan Adventure Ride)

Zanskar Motorcycle Expedition 2023/Documentary film : The film features 23 Riders from Singapore, who embarked on their journey from Manali and crossed the 9.02 km long tunnel (presently the world's longest single-tube highway tunnel built in the Pir Panjal mountain range of Himalayas). Riders covered the picturesque Sissu, Tandi, Keylong, Darcha & Yoche village in Lahaul valley surrounded by stunning snow-capped mountains, glacial rivers, waterfalls, willow and poplar trees. Entered the gateway of Zanskar via remote high-altitude pass Shinku-la, covered the majestic Gonbo Rangjon (Zanskar’s Sacred Mountain) rode through the rugged challenging terrain of Purne, Padum & Rangdum which added to the unexpected thrilling adventure. Covered the spectacular Drang Drung Glacier (one of the largest glaciers in Ladakh) and passed through the huge green expanse of Suru Valley (where horses, cows, sheep & goats were seen grazing beside the river cutting through the snow-capped mountains). Riders visited Kargil (the second largest city in Ladakh after Leh) and witnessed the 30-foot-tall statue of Maitreya Buddha, carved on an enormous stone slab, which overlooks the Leh-Kargil highway. From there riders continued their journey and passed the 2 high mountain passes Namika La and Fotu La, crossed The lunar landscape of Lamayuru (a landscape that uncannily resembles the surface of the moon) and reached Leh after riding through some of the most beautiful vistas. On the final leg of their journey, Riders visited Khardung La (one of the highest motorable roads in the world) shared their experiences and went back with beautiful memories to cherish. About Zanskar Motorcycle Expedition : For thousands of years, the Zanskar Valley was accessible only to hardened trekkers. In 2020, new "roads" connecting the Zanskar Valley were opened and made it possible to ride an adventure motorcycle through the valley. It is a path less taken. Limited facilities, the roads are rough, the climate is tough, & Network is not reliable. So, why would someone visit Zanskar? One reason - It is an offroading heaven. Now is the time to experience this really wild side of the Northern Himalayas. In the next two years, good roads, electricity and telephone connectivity will change everything. The ride through the mysterious Zanskar valley, simply means a test of your physical and mental endurance.
