Welding Project: Gusset Cutting Jig
Working in the shop, I find myself periodically needing to make gussets to help reinforce a joint or seam. Usually they are simple, triangular-shaped gussets to fit directly into a 90-degree corner. But actually making them can be aggravating and time consuming. For each gusset, I would have to switch between 45 degrees and 90 degrees on my saw to make the cuts. This jig will allow me to leave the saw set at 90 degrees and still make triangular gussets. All I have to do is cut several square pieces of metal, then install the jig and cut the squares into triangles.
