Below floors 4, 3, 2, and 1, there were people, and my sister was among them,” she added. With a pickaxe and an injured arm, Francis is searching for her relative, with whom she last spoke on Wednesday, minutes before the tragedy. “I spoke with her the same day as the earthquake; we had a video call. We talked about everyday things,” she said. “It’s sad, it’s tragic, but we are supporting each other.
