Investigación de la UES identifica alta contaminación por microplásticos en playas | NH12

A study by the Marine Science Laboratory at the University of El Salvador identified El Tunal beach in La Unión as the Salvadoran coast with the highest concentration of microplastics, primarily expanded polystyrene particles from packaging and disposable products. The study also detected microplastic pollution on El Espino, El Tamarindo, Chiquirín, and Barra de Santiago beaches. Researchers warned that this waste poses a risk to the marine ecosystem and called for strengthened efforts to reduce pollution along the country's coasts.
