Ciruelos del Pinar (Guadalajara)

🚩 Ciruelos del Pinar is a municipality in the province of Guadalajara, in the Autonomous Community of Castilla-La Mancha, and in the region of Señorío de Molina. The village is like a picture of stone houses, with the church tower peeking out from among a cluster of houses gathered around the Plaza Mayor. The landscape surrounding the town is shaped by its high altitude (1,260 m), which limits agricultural activity to the cultivation of cereals and legumes. The municipality was called Ciruelos until 1964, when the surname "del Pinar" was added to distinguish it from other towns named Ciruelos scattered throughout the country. The population decline in this municipality began in the 1960s and 70s, falling from 250 inhabitants to just 27 registered in 2024. Despite the devastating fire that ravaged the area in 2005, it still retains much of its beauty and ecological value. It is currently recovering well. This town is included in the Camino del Cid Safe-Conduct Stamping Network. 📍 Places to visit: Baroque Church of Santa María Magdalena ⛪ Plaza Mayor and the Pillory 🗼 Fountain of the Three Spouts or Elderberry Fountain ⛲ Fountain of the Spout ⛲ Garrison Rock 🗻 Natural areas such as La Piedra de la Cobertera, Fuente de la Pradera, Valley of Miracles, Fuente de los Colmenares, and Monte de la Dehesa de Ciruelos 🌳 El Pinar Neighborhood 🏡 Camino del Cid 🏹 📸 Photo report at: https://vivetupueblo.es/guadalajara/c... 🔗 Everything you need to know (what to do, where to eat or sleep, points of interest, etc.) at: https://vivetupueblo.es/guadalajara/c... 💻📲
