Discrete Math II - 8.2.2 Solving Second-Order Linear Homogeneous Recurrence Relations

We now take our first look at solving a second-order linear homogeneous recurrence relation by using the characteristic polynomial. The good (or bad) news is that if you are comfortable with solving a quadratic using any method, you can find the solution to the recurrence relation.
