Announcement of ESA's new class of astronauts
The ESA astronaut class 2022 includes five astronaut candidates and 12 members of the European astronaut reserve. Last year and for the first time since 2008, ESA launched a call for applications and it received more than 22 500 valid applications. At an event on 23 November, ESA revealed which of these were successful. The event was moderated by Louise Houghton.
