2021 Chowchilla Crit CAT4/5 - Full Race (Rear Cam)
The first USAC sanctioned crit of the year went down in Chowchilla last weekend and I was able to drive up and race. Unfortunately, my SD card from my front cam was corrupt and I only caught about 8 minutes in the middle of the race. This is my full rear cam footage with data overlays from the 2021 Chowchilla Criterium put on by VeloKings. I also raced the CAT 3/4 but really there's nothing worth seeing in that race as I pretty much just sat in so I won't even upload that. Lesson - format SD Cards in the GoPro before you race. I wasn't too stoked on the result. I did not pay attention to lap cards as the time on my Wahoo showed we had about 5 more minutes of racing before the lap cards were even supposed to come out (rookie mistake). That resulted in a missed break with 3 to go and not enough time for anyone to chase. 3 man break stuck it to the line to lock up the podium. I saw the cards with 1 to go and roasted my sprint burning a match to move up into position to even contest it. I came into the final corner about 15th wheel but didn't have the juice for a field sprint. Rolled across somewhere in the top 25. It was a full field of 76 when we started, although by the end of it I think we saw about 40 total cross the line.
